About the Library
The Powell River Campus Library has:
- A collection of over 3500 books, periodicals, government publications, and audio-visual materials
- Web-based catalogue and licensed databases
- Convenient access to the 200,000 books, microforms, audio-visual items, and over 20,000 periodical titles in the three campus libraries, and online
- Efficient intercampus loan system delivering requested items from the Nanaimo and Cowichan campus libraries
- Reference service available at the Service Desk, by telephone, and online
- Audio-visual equipment available for course-related use by students, faculty, and staff.
Students, faculty and staff may request materials from external libraries via interlibrary loan.
Members of the general public can access most of Vancouver Island University Library's resources and services by purchasing a library card for an annual fee of $25 ($9 for four months).
